Facebook- oops

We created a facebook page and got giddy when we reached over 100 in one day. Two days in and we're at 224!!! That is just crazy to us.

The biggest reason we created a blog & facebook page was because we are planning on participating in Sweet Ila Mae's Barn Sale this June. It's kind of a big deal to us for 2 reasons: #1 the sale is gorgeous and everything I could ever want in my own home in one place, and #2 we have never done anything like this before. Ahhhhhhhhh!

So now we have people liking and wanting our stuff, but we don't actually have a "store" or place to shop. My living room looks like a store right now. It's funny and ridiculous at the same time. Oh well, at least it's neat stuff.

Latest projects:

Setting the "stage"

We just happened to get a SNOW DAY & in my world, that is a jackpot day in itself. Jason had the day off, so we visited The Painted House in Cookeville to pick up some Annie Sloan paint and made our way over to 2 Sisters Blue House Primitives and More to see what they had to offer.
We are just now branching out into painting pieces, so we decided to pick up some Blackberry House paint to try out. We also grabbed up a really funky looking table at Goodwill to try out some Sour Apple or Butter Butter paint on. Who knows, maybe we'll use both colors. Adventurous.
That got us motivated to pull some things out of the garage when we got home and do a little "staging" of what we picked up this weekend.

Look at this beautiful mantle from the 1800's!!

We hope to look back at this first attempt of putting our "junk" together and giggle at how newbie-looking it is. Ha! At this moment, we are so proud of ourselves for picking up so many interesting and truly vintage pieces. We'll see how it all shapes up!

Hickory Creek Boutique in 3...2...1

Here we go!!!

This is a new adventure for my husband and I. We have decided to hop on the repurpose/redesign wagon because A. We are crazy. B. We are both lefties that need to be doing something at all times.
The name of said "adventure" is Hickory Creek Boutique. The selfish side of me picked this name because I was raised in an area called Hickory Valley, and met my husband while living in Lost Creek. The areas kind of pour into each other, so if you didn't know better, you would think they were one-in-the-same.
On a side note, I am an elementary school teacher and my husband is a manager at Walmart. Between the two of us, we have stories fit for a comedic novel. Maybe one day we will give that a shot too!! We also have a hilarious 5-year-old son that is my world. :)
